If you have a laptop and a Tableau license, I believe you can install Tableau up to two machines (let me know if I am wrong!). Feel free to bring your laptop to the next event so you can follow along on your own, or happily join in the group effort.

Here are the links to the Tableau conference YouTube videos and the Iron Viz challenge recap.
There are over 300 videos from the Tableau conference, the majority full sessions. These sessions range from use cases presented by companies, to guides on how to create calculations and chart types in Tableau. There is content for Tableau users of all levels.
The visuals for the Iron Viz challenge were created with weather data. All visuals were created within 20 minutes. These visuals showcase some of Tableau's capabilities.
